Metaphysical Meaning

Seraphim are known from the throne vision of Isaiah 6, where their praise proclaims the holiness of the Lord. The name is commonly connected with a Hebrew root for burning. In later Christian angelological hierarchy, Seraphim are placed among the highest orders and are associated with nearness to Divine Presence, holy praise, and burning devotion.
